Even though summer is winding down, Hard Seltzer Summer continues!
Clear Coast Fresh Hard Seltzer has been on my radar all summer because they were one of the first widely distributed Michigan-made hard seltzer brands. Clear Coast is made by Perrin Brewing Company out of Comstock Park.
This hard seltzer brand has received the most polarizing reviews from friends and family. I had to see what all the fuss was about, so I played it safe and snagged a can of each of the year-round flavors – Mango Guava, Mixed Berry, and Watermelon Lime.
Each of these flagship flavors had the same macronutrients with 100 calories, 0 g of protein and fat, and 3 g of carbs with 1 g of sugar. One thing to note is they are gluten-reduced rather than gluten-free like other brands. All of them are 5% ABV, so easy drinking all the way around.
Out of the three flavors, Mixed Berry was my favorite. The other flavors weren’t enjoyable based on the smells and tastes of each. My family’s and friend’s criticisms rang true after drinking the other two. I thought the Mixed Berry had the most consistent flavor, which was a welcome surprise. It had a solid crisp aftertaste that had me wanting more.
According to its website, Perrin has spring hard seltzer flavors with Strawberry Kiwi, Orange Passion, and Pineapple Papaya. They also released a fall flavor-inspired box last year with Cran-Raspberry, Dark Cherry, and Grape Pomegranate. We’ll see if they make a return this fall. I think everything is worth a try, so I’ll let you know if I get my hands on any.
Cheers!
