According to National Today and multiple social media posts, today is National Beer Day. Instead of reaching for a beer at 5 o’clock, I reached for my final can of SESH Mojito from XED Beverages. The Mojito Spiked Seltzer was the final hard seltzer for me to try. Their current lineup is Mojito, Gin and Tonic, Paloma, and Moscow Mule.

I’ll be the first to admit, cocktails are not my specialty, so knowing what makes up a cocktail usually means I need to consult the internet first. All of the hard seltzers of the SESH lineup were true to flavor profiles and styles. In my opinion, Mojito was the best flavor with a steady balance between the lime and mint.

The Moscow Mule was a close second. I’ve always been a fan of ginger in beers, so naturally, when I started dipping my toes into the cocktail world, Moscow Mules resonated with me. SESH’s version of the cocktail was extremely refreshing. I enjoyed every sip of the can of hard seltzer.

The Paloma had notes of lime and grapefruit with neither one overpowering the other. The Gin and Tonic hard seltzer was straightforward and, I thought, could be an excellent to cool off with after mowing the lawn or working out.

Each of the four hard seltzers poured clear and were crisp and refreshing. No matter what flavor you select you are guaranteed to have a 12 oz beverage that is 6% ABV and 120 calories with 0 g of fat, 0 g of protein, and only 1 g of carbohydrates. All of the flavors are gluten-free and produced with no preservatives. The ingredients for each were simple and straightforward, too: filtered water, alcohol, natural flavors, citric acid, and Stevia.

With summer lingering around in 2021, the SESH lineup was a great way for me to enjoy the last glimpses of summer and knock back solid beverages along the way. I’m looking forward to more SESH beverages in my future as their footprint expands throughout the United States. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for these beverages that showcase how a seltzer can be approachable and delicious.

Cheers!

Ed Norton

Edwin "Ed" Norton was first introduced to craft beer when his designated fraternity Big Brother Vince asked him if he knew anything about the topic. Ed admitted his ignorance and the rest is history as Ed and Vince would split six-packs of craft beers each week during Ed's probationary status. Ed is now a craft beer enthusiast who is always on the lookout for a beer he has not tried when bottle shopping or drinking at breweries and bars. In addition to drinking beer, this livelong Michigan resident enjoys a bunch of hobbies that he doubts you really care about, other than drinking beer and sounding off about it.
