Craft beer festivals happen in our state nearly every weekend, and sometimes multiple per weekend all across the state, and even more across the country. The World Expo of Beer (W.E.B.) is part beer competition, part beer festival. It boasts to be the state of Michigan’s largest beer sampling event and has breweries from all over the United States and world. The competition was already completed when the festival took place and everyone who won a medal was showing it off.

James Boyd of the World Expo of beer joined Better on Draft back in April as well!

The festival itself is great for both beer drinkers and those who may be interested in other flavors of alcohol. Plenty of Beers, Ready to Drink (RTD) beverages, Hard Seltzers, Meads, Ciders, and more for you to wet your whistle as you walk in between tents seeing what other beverage makers have brought.  W.E.B. boasts an international group of these beverage makers which allows for you to try beverages not only made in Michigan, but some you may not normally get in our state as well.

The food options are fairly expansive, and with entertainment including multiple DJ’s, MC’s hosting competitions, and games.  Plenty of seating to rest your legs from all that walking and a gorgeous view of the Cass River for you to enjoy some scenery while sipping on your taster.

For the Better on Draft crew, Ken was there to cover the event, while Wendy was there to volunteer at the event.

We recommended 20 beers for people to check out at the festival. Here are our winners from the World Expo of Beer!

Ken

A craft beer fan since 19, used to look for your non-regular beers on frequent trips to downtown Windsor with friends, at 21 Ken basically took over an entire refrigerator with monthly visits to Merchants. With 5 years of podcasting prior, Ken decided to create the brand and show Better on Draft in the spring of 2015, and began creating his dream of a beer-centric website that wasn't too full of itself. He now runs the board and does a lot of the back office stuff while the show goes on, keeping everyone in line, and the beer flowing!
