Yesterday, voting ended for the first round of March Draftness 2023!

The field of 64 Michigan breweries has been cut in half to 32. Round 2 is set to begin tomorrow, Saturday, March 18 at 7 pm on Better on Draft’s Facebook page and end on Tuesday, March 21 at 7:00 pm.

Similar to March Madness, some of the “games” were close and decided by a vote or two, while others were clear runaways. Whatever the outcome, we would like to thank everyone who voted on Facebook in Round 1.

Our graphic designer has decided to combine two of the regions together to make one graphic. Let’s take a look at the graphic and breakdown the regions.

Disclaimer: We at Better on Draft believe that our bracket is more unique than other brewery-related March Madness Brackets. We have reached out to hundreds of breweries throughout Michigan and received each brewery’s approval to participate. These breweries are added to the bracket on a first come first serve basis to create a field of 64. The brewery that wins is to host a keg party thrown by and paid for by us. With this type of buy in, we don’t want to assume that any and all breweries are good to complete the end of the deal.

Ed Norton

Edwin "Ed" Norton was first introduced to craft beer when his designated fraternity Big Brother Vince asked him if he knew anything about the topic. Ed admitted his ignorance and the rest is history as Ed and Vince would split six-packs of craft beers each week during Ed's probationary status. Ed is now a craft beer enthusiast who is always on the lookout for a beer he has not tried when bottle shopping or drinking at breweries and bars. In addition to drinking beer, this livelong Michigan resident enjoys a bunch of hobbies that he doubts you really care about, other than drinking beer and sounding off about it.
