This has been a summer of new things for me. Usually, ABV plays a significant part in what I decide to drink. The higher, the better. Over the last few months, I have stepped outside of that idea because I was hearing really good things about some beers that don’t pack a huge “punch”. I have consumed more sub-8% ABV beers in the last couple of months than I have in the last few years combined and I have been (mostly) pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Bells “Poolside Ale” is one of the highlights of my summer thus far. The “Belgian Style Wheat” description alone would have turned me away in previous years, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. So, this Belgian Style Wheat with Cherry Juice is incredibly refreshing. Drinking it certainly reminds you of being “poolside”. They stick pretty closely to the style, but the cherry juice is what makes this one so good. The cherry is just sweet enough and does not dominate the body of the beer. At 5% ABV, I could drink these all day and be both satisfied and still able to stand up. I’m still searching for more of this, so if you see any laying around in the Metro Detroit Area, give me a shout. Cheers!

I liked this one as well. Easy drinker, with just enough cherry.
