Welcome to the first Great Lakes States New Beer Labels post! General curiosity led me down several rabbit holes while perusing the TTB recently and the idea to feature newly TTB approved beer labels from the other seven Great Lakes states was born.

Separate New Beer Label posts for Better on Draft’s home state of Michigan will still be happening so keep your eye out for those.

All of the beer labels featured here are available for the public to view on the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) website. You can spend your time figuring it out or you can check out our monthly highlights. Check out past posts here.

It should be noted that TTB approved labels are not guaranteed to be on shelves in the immediate future or even at all. Breweries need to have labels ready if they decide a beer is a go for packaging and distribution. There may be a multitude of reasons to release a product or not. The purpose of this post is to start a conversation about what is potentially on the horizon in the Great Lakes beer scene.

This month’s highlights include labels from 3 Floyds Brewing Company, Ahnapee Brewery, Apex Brewery, August Schell Brewing Company, Bent Paddle Brewing Co., Bill’s Best Brewery, Black Lung Brewing Company, BlackStack Brewing, The Brewing Projekt, Burial Beer Co, Collusion Tap Works, DankHouse Brewing Co., Decadent Ales, Disgruntled Brewing, East Troy Brewery, Ever Grain Brewing Co., Fair State Brewing Cooperative, Four Fathers Brewing Co., FX Matt Brewing Company, Great Lakes Brewing Co., Hop & Barrel Brewing, Indeed Brewing Company, Jackie O’s Brewery, Lil Beaver Brewery, Loaded Dice Brewery, Log Tavern Brewing Co., Lupulin Brewing Company, Masthead Brewing Co., Metazoa Brewing Co., Mikerphone Brewing MobCraft Beer, Non Sequitur Beer Project, Off Color Brewing, Old Irving Brewing Co., Oliphant Brewing, Other Half Brewing Co, Pax Verum Brewing Company, Pipeworks Brewing Co., Platform Beer Co., Rough Edges Brewing, Scorched Earth Brewing Co., South Shore Craft Brewery, Stone Bridge Brewing Company, Sun King Brewery, Taxman Brewing Company, Thin Man Brewery, Trek Brewing Company, Tripping Animals Brewing Co., Untitled Art, Upland Brewing Co., Urban Artifact, Walt & Whitman Brewing Company, Well Crafted Beer Company,

Ed Norton

Edwin "Ed" Norton was first introduced to craft beer when his designated fraternity Big Brother Vince asked him if he knew anything about the topic. Ed admitted his ignorance and the rest is history as Ed and Vince would split six-packs of craft beers each week during Ed's probationary status. Ed is now a craft beer enthusiast who is always on the lookout for a beer he has not tried when bottle shopping or drinking at breweries and bars. In addition to drinking beer, this livelong Michigan resident enjoys a bunch of hobbies that he doubts you really care about, other than drinking beer and sounding off about it.

My vote is for the Cheap Ass Beer label. I’d always have a 6 pack in the fridge for when certain friends come over!
