Today we will be re-visiting Temperance, Michigan to have a few pints at Pavlov’s, which opened in 2019 and have been serving up superb tasting beer to the people of Southeast Michigan from the very beginning.
When you first walk into Pavlov’s Brewing Company the first feature that you will notice is a decent sized L-shaped bar that has the capacity to seat approximately 10 to 12 hopheads. There are around 10 or so tables shuffled around the facility for your drinking and dining needs. In addition there is an outdoor seating area that has plenty of room for you to enjoy your drinks with your friends and family.
Pavlov’s is home to various events throughout the year such as live music, beer and food pairings, trivia nights, and more. On Wednesdays at Pavlov’s they do offer a happy hour from 3 to 6 where all pints are just 5 dollars. Check their social media outlets to see if there will be an event on your next trip to Pavlov’s. Speaking of their space, I was not able to determine if the space is available for rent during my research. Check with Pavlov’s to see if they allow private event rentals for your next celebration. Warning Pavlov’s is closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind when planning your visit to the taproom.
When it comes to food, Pavlov’s does not offer a kitchen on the premises, but they do offer an impressive rotation of food trucks. Essentially they have a food truck almost everyday. Check their socials to see if they have a food truck available on your trip to Temperance. If they don’t have one, or the offering for the night isn’t your cup of tea, outside food is always welcome at Pavlov’s.
OMG, my friend came with me and can’t stand beer, does Pavlov’s offer any other options for drinks? Yes they do, Pavlov’s offers a selection of Wines, and Ciders to appease the beer hater in your group. Now if you brought someone in your group that doesn’t drink alcohol, there are various sodas available for their consumption during your experience in the taproom.
The star of the show at the brewery finally gets to make its appearance on the review, our really good friend, the beer. Pavlov’s offers 16 rotating taps of their beer at all times, and they run the gamete on styles of beer. Some year round favorites include their Stinkeye IPA, Submission Wheat, and their Sitting Pretty DIPA. Rotating seasonal beers include their Raspberry Wheat Ale, Shamus on you- Irish Red and Ivan’s Reward- Imperial Stout. Other beers that I have tried on visits to Pavlov’s include Mad Ludwig’s Project- Munich Dunkel, Couch Muncher- Brown Ale, Blurry Daze- Hazy IPA, and their Oktoberfest. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu here.
My favorite beer from here though, and I stop and get some to go everytime I drive to Ohio for something now, is their Peanut Butter Treat. This beer is a dark Baltic Porter that is packed full of Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate flavors with slight hints of Coffee and finishes ever so smooth. But be careful, drink too many of these 7.5% ABV Porters and you may need to learn a few conditioned responses in order to find your way home safe. Examples include ordering Ubers, or having someone responsibly drive you home, or getting it to go and drinking it at home. Always drink responsibly.
If you hear a bell ringing in your head and it makes you automatically want a beer. You might want to be a good boy and head down to Pavlov’s Brewing Company in Temperance, the home of the conditioned response. Estrovia!
