As you are traveling across Northern Michigan you will inevitably come to Grayling, Michigan and Dead Bear Brewing Company. The brewery started in 2014 and has been serving beer to thirsty townspeople and weary travelers for the last decade.
Dead Bear is located on the South end of the !-75 business loop that runs through Grayling. The thing that you will notice as you pull into the parking lot is that the building has the design of a log cabin and looks really cool.
Once on the inside they run a very big operation in the building they occupy. There are plenty of seats scattered all around the facility for your drinking and dining cravings. There is also a nice wooden bar area that has the ability to seat approximately 12 to 15 craft beer lovers. The space is available for rent for your next get together, contact Dead Bear about possible reservations and pricing for your event.
Another cool thing that they offer at Dead Bear Brewing Company is they have quite a few classic arcade games available for your enjoyment. There is also a huge, stuffed Dead Bear right at the entrance of the brewery.
At Dead Bear Brewing Company they do offer a kitchen with a full menu. Some of the options on their menu include small plates and sides, burgers, sandwiches, fish, and desserts. They have been voted #1 burger, #1 fry, and #1 Fish Fry Friday in the Grayling area. We have eaten here on a few occasions and I have enjoyed their burgers and fries on our visits.
For those that don’t drink beer, Dead Bear is a full service bar with a full menu of liquor based drinks and cocktails. Other alcoholic options include Ciders, Wines and Seltzers. For the non-drinker they offer various mocktails and a bunch of different soda options.
Now when it comes to their beer they offer quite a few beer options on their menu, they offer up to 21 beers on tap at any given time. Some of their options include Maple Bacon Porter, Dunkelweizen, Escanaba River Amber Ale, Honey Saison, Hefeweizen, Belle-Dog Oatmeal Stout, River Gremlin IPA, and many more. If they don’t have anything on tap that sounds good to you, on our visits they have also had quite a few guest taps from various other Michigan-based breweries. So no matter what you order, they will have something available to drink for any palate.
On your next visit to Grayling stop into the log cabin on the South end of town that houses Dead Bear Brewing Company and grab yourself something to eat and drink to fuel up for the rest of your Michigan brewery travels. Cin Cin!
