Bella Snow is back! With a refreshing rebrand and a new beer to their lineup, this California-based brewery listened to consumer feedback and modified their products in the best way possible!

We at Better on Draft are no longer strangers to Bella Snow and their story. Back in January, I reviewed the Soft Ale with Mandarin and tasted the Soft Ale with Grapefruit. Since then Bella Snow has renamed both styles from a Soft Ale to a Scottish Style Ale. They have also repackaged their beers from the tall, skinny cans often associated with Hard Seltzers to your typical 12 oz cans beer and pop are found in.

Better on Draft recently interviewed Sean Boisson, one of the co-founders of Bella Snow, in Episode 289. The interview is chock full of information about Bella Snow’s start, where the name “Bella Snow” came from, the brand’s focus, and beers. All of the hosts tasted Bella Snow’s beers and gave their two cents about them.

I was happy to receive a can of the West Coast IPA to review, too. West Coast IPA is newest beer in the Bella Snow portfolio.

The beer poured into a glass with the same orange-ish hue associated with West Coast IPAs. The beer was brewed with Citra, Simcoe, and Cashmere hops. The hops were forward on the nose and balanced. There was a subtle malty backbone, too.

One of the things that makes Bella Snow stand out is how low their ABV goes – 2.4%! The beer clocks in at 80 calories with 0 g fat, 7.3 g carbs, and <1 g of protein. There is no question that one could have several of these beers no matter what the occasion this summer!

If you’re able to snag a can or case of anything out of Bella Snow’s growing portfolio, do it, especially if you’re looking for a low calorie and low alcohol brew.

Cheers!

Disclaimer: As stated above, Bella Snow provided the Better on Draft team with several cans to taste and review.

Ed Norton

Edwin "Ed" Norton was first introduced to craft beer when his designated fraternity Big Brother Vince asked him if he knew anything about the topic. Ed admitted his ignorance and the rest is history as Ed and Vince would split six-packs of craft beers each week during Ed's probationary status. Ed is now a craft beer enthusiast who is always on the lookout for a beer he has not tried when bottle shopping or drinking at breweries and bars. In addition to drinking beer, this livelong Michigan resident enjoys a bunch of hobbies that he doubts you really care about, other than drinking beer and sounding off about it.
