This week I decided to try another beer from Deschute’s.  Going with a seasonal theme, I picked up some Hopzeit Autumn IPA.  It’s not quite a marzen style Oktoberfest, and it’s not quite an IPA either.

The beer pours with a thin white head with minimal lacing.  The nose hits you with caramel malt, bread, and a hint of herbal hop aroma.  The coloring of the beer is a translucent amber and caramel.  The flavor is very malt forward, and does not have much of a hop flavor to it.

Hopzeit Autumn IPA is rather undeserving of the title of an IPA.  The hop character is so muted, you may as well call this an Oktoberfest.  It’s not a terrible beer, it’s just a terrible IPA.
