It pours with a very thin tan head that quickly dissipates. It has a medium body and low carbonation, so not something you want to chug down, but not something that needs to be nursed for fear of being too rich. Morning Nightcap is dark, like a deep, burnt, brown that evokes the same black coffee it aims to emulate. It tastes like…well, coffee. It hits you right up front with coffee flavor that’s nicely balanced with oats that smooth it out and tone down the bitterness. The finish leaves you with a hint of the traditional black coffee bitterness.
If coffee is your thing then this is the beer for you. It starts out smooth and leaves you with the joy of your morning coffee without having to make the dreaded commute to work.
