This season seems to be a battle of super heavy Triple IPA’s and I must say that I LOVE it! Though they are super heavy and usually a “one and done” for me, I enjoy a heavy IPA that I can sip and experience the change in flavors as the temperature of the beer changes. Though much maligned due to some issues with some of their stouts and barrel aged beers, Odd Side really did a good job with “The Implication” Triple IPA. It is a very heavy beer and it took me a while to finish it, but it was a pleasant experience. It opens with some fruity aroma, but not much fruit in the taste initially with lots of malt. As it warmed, big pineapple flavor jumped out and the malt falls back a bit. It makes no attempt at masking the 13%ABV and has a warm lingering citrus finish. I’ve heard that it’s “Better On Draft”, but what beer isn’t? It’s really good from the bottle, so I can only assume that it’s that much better from the tap. Cheers!
